That Memphis team was , i think 7-1 when we played and had been in top 10 or top 20 all year…Fantastic rally down 3 TDS in second half with back up QB after Ward’s injury makes it a great all time win…Later that year a decisive win over a 9-1 Navy team also ranked in top 10 was a great win too.
We have a great history and it is hard to include everything…
Those were the longest :49 of my life vs Tech
2006 win against Oklahoma State at Robertson is up there for me. Late night home game against P5 team and Kolb and company beat that a&&
That '96 game vs SoMiss was incredible. Antowain Smith with 230+ and what seemed like a dozen TDs (actually just 6). What a night that was.
I remember that night, I had to work the afternoon shift at Settegast yard and luckily got off work early enough to see the about half of the 4th quarter and the overtime.
Came here to say this!
Ticket City Bowl win over Penn State was big.
We lit penn state up.
My favorite part of that was when the ref called a penalty against Penn St. for illegal touching.
Yes, number 5.
I was there.
AMAZING game!
I got chased out of a bar in Stillwater that day
Win @ Stillwater over #5 Ok State would be the only omission for me
DG also proved to people why he was one of the highest rated recruits in UH history that game
The win over Florida State was pretty sweet.
Our worst moments as a mid-major (that I saw and can recall…I only started watching in 2009)
- 2010 at UCLA
- The rest of 2010
- 2014 v UTSA
- 2012 v Texas State
- Every game after UTSA and before UCF in 2014
- 2011 v. USM
- 2015 at emphasized textUConn
- Each one of our losses in 2016 (that team was capable of winning it all)
- 2018 armed forces bowl
- 2021 v Texas Tech (seriously, in the second half if we would have just taking a knee every single down and ran out the clock we probably would have won)
I feel like that 2021 Tech game is when the fanbase really began to sour on Dana.
UH was never considered a mid major in basketball either…
How many truly exciting games have we had in the past five years? Zero by my count, and that’s been killing our fanbase.
