I still have a puffy jacket from that era with that logo on it. I wear it to UH games in cold weather.
Another look up close on Jersey, seems more red than orange. Looks like a dark navy trim as Nike tag is black

I must have bought the other one. It is cold so rarely here that I will never need to replace it.
It did. I was a freshman the fall the school had the student submissions in a contest to make it back in 1996 - that logo won. I finally got to UH, but by then we were in CUSA, and adopted a whole new logo. Even took away the traditional athletic helmet logo in favor of the academic logo 95-98 (that part wasn’t so bad, but still).

If incorporating different eras they should of put the wet cat logo on the side shoulders with the red stripes on the helmet instead, or maybe a small decal of it on the back of the helmets.
I think that looks pretty good. Looks Run-n-shootish. But please… a RED helmet!!! White helmet sucks rancid donkey schlong!!

I think white helmets should be reserved only for away game uniforms
but if the home game uni is white, then the white helmet is apropos
