It would be cool to bring as many old Oilers and recognize them at the half.
I think some of you are missing the point. Mentioned earlier but sort of glossed over.
This is not a celebration of the Oiler’s, It is a celebration of the City of Houston as it celebrates its 187th birthday.
Columbia Blue has been the color that represents Houston for a long time. That’s why the Oilers chose it.
But as pointed out earlier, it is the color of the city of Houston Flag
. . . and the Police cars all used to be Columbia Blue.
Even when they went to white cars, they still had the Columbia Blue stripe.
So the Columbia Blue Uniforms are just our Cougars celebrating the city’s birthday. . . . and if we start chanting “Luv Ya Coogs!” . . . even better!

Further… If pictures of these uniforms are getting this much attention, I can only imagine how much run the highlight film will get.
If we come out and play solid, that might get the football program some positive attention.

I just don’t understand why they would need to show any attention to the Texans? What significance would that bring? The Texans themselves are working to have these uniforms or something similar. They know it’s all about paying homage to city of Houston and the fans.
Y’all mocked SMU just for putting the word Dallas on their uniforms even though they kept their colors (unlike us). What would you have said if they wore dark blue with a silver helmet along with the word Dallas? Brilliant marketing or eternal laughter?

The whole problem was SMU using the word ‘Dallas’, which appears nowhere in their name. Also, very different with the Cowboys as they still exist.

Yes the Cowboys exist. They’re not a team that abandoned the Metroplex unlike the team we’re paying homage too. Maybe SMU should go for a Dallas Texans now the KC Chiefs theme
I am hoping to see Case Keenum, Tank Dell and Josh Jones at the game. Maybe more with the NFL off week.

I’m so ambivalent about these jerseys. They look nice, but I’m just imagining the jokes if we lose the game.
The reception is so positive, we really should make them full time.
