“The more plays you run, the more touches you get guys, the more chances you have to score, the more plays the defense has to stay out there,” said Briles, whose Baylor offenses averaged 87 plays over a five-year span. “If you can continually pick up first downs and not give them a chance to think and breathe, you have a better opportunity to have big plays.”
