I don’t see any scenario we’re out of the CCG — If we win out — if Utah and Kansas State wins. It still might come down to a tie breaker between us and Cincinnati and since they didn’t have Tech on their schedule, I like our chances. It might depend on how far they drop with a loss and how far the pollsters like us.
We don’t really need BYU to lose. We do need Tech and Cincinnati to lose.
Also, even at 11-1, I doubt we’d make the CFP if we miss the CCG as the loser of that game will probably get picked picked before us.
But who knows. It’s one week at a time and this week it’s go Utes and go Wildcats.
Houston at 12-1 for sure since we’d be the champs. Although at 11-2 we’d need a little love from the committee. The Willie Fritz effect and our turnaround might play in our favor.
Unless BYU melts down, they’re in. I don’t see 2 losses.
BYU lost their starting running back against ISU in the first qtr and are down to their like 5th string guy from the start of fall ball anticipated depth chart. If he doesn’t come back we could lose.
Tech has been hurt by injuries even more especially on defense. Give me BYU in that game as they have grown men on a mission while tech has prima donnas chasing a bag and problems in the QB room.
Pretty sure they only lost one of their DTs. His backup is playing out of his mind right now. I think Morton is also back for them this week. Tech looked like crap with Hammond under center. I don’t your think your assessment is fair…and the guys on BYU’s roster got paid too. BYU isn’t transparent about their spending.
The newbies (AAC & BYU) are on top pulling the dead weight from the bottom of the B12, even most of the PAC newbies. The B12 has been a gold mine for big cities to recruit, esp. UH.
Tech is the only team that worries me against BYU. Their LBs are so good at multiplicity. Very good on short passes and exceptional against the run. But who knows. BYU has the it factor this season. They don’t panic and seem to enjoy close games.
