I am not a fan of having live mascots at football games but I would suggest UH shoot a video of Shasta at the Houston Zoo and play it during home games. Shasta is quite photogenic.

Looked great on TV and a point of pride for just having gone to so many games with Shasta at the games.
It was interesting to see Shasta bristle at the Baylor Bear. We know how that battle would turn out.

Our Shasta mascot is portrayed as a male but was a female throughout history.
Sasha is portrayed as a female so technically that’s the correct version.
Yes and Shasta wacked reveille on the nose when he approached her cage on the sideline.She pretended to be sleeping while the dog was sniffing about. He put his nose between the bars and Boom! Shasta struck like lightening ! The terrified dog went screaming across the field while the Coog Fans went wild ! Great memories !
