First serve of the 2025 season about this time (2 p.m. CDT) tomorrow (August 29th). The coogs begin the year in Durham. N.C.

Three games this weekend: Florida International tomorrow, host Duke on Saturday (4 p.m) and a 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning start on the 31st against Bryant.

From what I can glean all three games are available for streaming on something called ACCN - which I hope is included as part of the ESPN+ package.

I have VB season tickets, but don’t attend that often. Anyone that wants to attend a match, hit me up. This year I think they include free drinks and popcorn as well!

Impressive opening match. After winning set 1 comfortably (25-18), Coogs close out the contest by playing well down the stretch in sets 2 and 3: winning 25-23, then 26-24.

UH goes into Cameron Field House and continues where the basketball team left off by dominating the Dukies.

First two sets UH was totally superior in all aspects-- winning 25-19 then 25-13. Duke pushed the Coogs in set 3, but UH again executed well to close out the 3rd-- 26-24.

If I heard correctly the Coogs had 11 service aces.

Coogs conclude road trip on the morrow at 10:30 am against winless Bryant.

Impressive sweep. The ACC is one of the top volleyball conferences in the country (probably #3 behind the Big 10 and SEC).

Coogs bake (I am reliably informed by my grandkids that the modern way of describing sports victories is by use of cooking terms) Bryant in three sets. The volleyballers have yet to drop a set.

Next up is thd Flo Hyman classic this weekend ( September 4-6) at Fertitta Center. Opponents are San Diego State, LSU and Omaha

Coogs play home opener tonight at 7 pm. Opponent is San Diego State. SDSU is 1-1.

After not dropping a set on the road, the Coogs are now at 2-2 against San Diego State. All set, yes I went there, to begin one of those play to 15 5th sets. Hope the Coogs can do some cooking. Game on ESPN3.

Fun match! Started off a little sloppy, but both teams really improved as the match went on. Coogs made a lot of service errors or it might have been over in 4. Excellent win, San Diego State had some skill. Decent show by the students, better than in the past.

Tough day at the office. The Nutria were better today. LSU wins in straight sets.

Things don’t get alot easier as next matches are in Lexington against first Purdue then UK on the 13th and 14th.

Tough morning in Kentuckistan. Coogs swept by #14 Purdue. Coogs back in action tomorrow against Kentucky at 1 pm - unlike today’s match tomorrow available on the plus, I believe.

Coogs swept by Kentucky today (Sunday the 14th). They have three straight at home to prepare for conference contestss, which begin in Fort Worth against TCU, single match on Wednesday the 24th.

Coogs win 2 of three matches this weekend. Team enters conference play with a 7-4 record.

The Big 12 has five (5) ranked teams. TCU, the Coogs first opponent , is a top 10 team. From my, admittedly not particularly knowledgeable, perspective conference play presents an opportunity and a challenge.

Coogs lose in 3 sets to #9 TCU IN Fort Worth. Match was hotl contested including a 32-30 second set score. Texas Tech at home on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Coogs beat TT in conference home opener 3 sets to one. Coogs took opening 2 sets rather easily. After Tech won 3rd set the 4th was extremely hard fought, full of match point challenges, extended rallies and finally the Coogs prevailing 29-27.

Coogs travel to Waco to play Baylor this Wednesday. ESPN+ will televise. Match starts at 7 p.m.
