I’m not sure I believe that it won’t have an athletic facility, with 320 acres, but they’ve got some big guns pushing against us. Chance to vote on second link. We’re running about half for and half against.

“This will not be a four-year campus with a mascot and an admissions department. Eventually, who knows what it will be, but if anybody is ready for this to become UT Houston with a modified mascot and a football team, that’s not what’s going to happen here,” Hobby said.

Thanks for the link. UT-Houston is a trojan horse (so that would likely be their local mascot).
