Was this guy UH's first NFL champion?

Gang,

Bob Clatterbuck, as far as I know, was UH’s first NFL quarterback.

He played at UH from 1951-1953, and was on UH’s first teams to crack the Top 20 (1952) and make/win a bowl game (1951).

He later played in the NFL as a QB for the NY Giants, and in the AFL for the Chargers.

He was on the 1956 NFL champion Giants team.

Would that make Clatterbuck UH’s first NFL champion player?

If anyone knows of a UH player that played for an NFL champion earlier than that, please advise!

Could well be…Cant recollect anyone before him.

I think we only had 2 other players in the NFL prior to 1956: Paul Carr and JD Kimmel. Neither were on championship caliber teams
