The Texas Tech women just signed a 7-footer from Nigeria (yes, thatâs correct and not a typo) to join the team immediately. Itâs going to be a long conference season.

Really disappointed so far. Was hoping Coach would hit the jackpot with the portal.

Yes they have a good class coming in. Nice PG and couple good forwards. Its hard to turn this thing around in 1 year when there has been minimal investment and the program has basically invisible to the high level talent locally as an option. Next year should be a lot better if they are able to get some key portal additions. Had a few players quit during the season too.

I think Poole and Bostock are the two no longer playing. The 6-5 freshman from Australia is redshirting I think? The four who were ejected last night are likely facing a 1-game suspension based on the NCAA rules. Maybe the one who was ejected for leaving the bench wonât get suspended but the other three were ejected for throwing punches and that usually brings a suspension. Perhaps one of the three isnât because it wasnât really a punch like the other two - more of an incidental shoulder shove.
It was unfortunate because UH was winning at the time (and playing well). And the K-State girl started it with a hard foul, throwing a UH player to the ground (she was the one ejected for Kansas State). I know itâs hard not to let get emotions get the best of you but you have to maintain composure in a situation like this.

The fight and resulting ejections were very unfortunate. The team finally had the lead late in a conference game and lost all momentum to win with the players being ejected.
What is also unfortunate is this is the only womenâs game that had a substantial write up in the Houston Chronicle (Duarte) that i can recall this season and it was only because of the fight. Not the way you want to make headlines when building a program. But to be honest, there has not been very much very good to write about with all the blowouts so far this season so maybe no coverage of the blowouts is for the better.
Yeah, we were actually in the game with high chances of winning, and then the hot-headedness got a hold of them & we put ourselves in a bad situation.
The final 2 mins alone, where Kansas St. coudnât score, gave us a fighting chance, but our more talented players had been ejected prior smh

Not sure why the instigator wouldnât get more than one game. Threw her down first, walked over her, then threw a shoulder. Nothing circumstantial about all that.

Decent first half on the road at a top 25 Texas Tech team, but they made a half court shot at the buzzer to go up by 10. It was a 4 point game with a little over a minute to go in the half.
One good thing from the fight aftermath is Kyndall Hunter has gotten out of her slump. Sheâs back in the starting lineup tonight.

Played well but came up short. The best sign is the team is still fighting and havenât given up on the season. Probably gave away 2 conference wins due to the fight. BYU didnât impress me and we hung with them until the players wore down.

Obviously a program is not built in a year but the 600k per year should have gone towards hiring a baseball coach that wasnât a total noob.
Baseball CAN be turned around in a year( you can make a regional in year one with the right hire)âŠ.and then a couple more to build a legitimate program.

The official attendance was 1,200 for the last home game. Was there really 1,200 fans in attendance?
If so, the attendance has gone up significantly from last year.

Womenâs game Sunday at Baylor has been moved back to Tuesday, due to the weather. Seems like a smart play there.

I see Rice womenâs basketball is 19-3 and beat us by 14 in November.
This season has been disappointing to say the least.
I seriously wonder why it is so hard to recruit players? And I really figured the portal would help but it obviously didnât.
There is NO reason for womenâs hoops and baseball to be as bad as it has been
