It is crazy… and I love how ranked SEC team gets blasted by a non-ranked SEC we get two ranked SEC teams (SC & Vandy). This feels like last seasons basketball poll all over again.

The polls are a joke. No one knows who’s better than who yet. It’s a bad system. No rankings till week 6 or 7. Let everything settle out before saying who is what.

To be fair, these aren’t the rankings that “matter.” The CFP rankings don’t come out until November.

Hot take: if we beat the Beavers at their place, we’ll be ranked going into Week 6 vs TTU. Why? The ESPN overlords would love to see two unbeaten, ranked teams on their schedule.

Edit: and why is it always the 4th grade when it comes to troubled kids on TV shows? Bart on the Simpsons, South Park, the kids on recess, billy and mandy on grim adventures.

Given the state of CFB more broadly, yes. Navy got a vote with wins over VMI, UAB, and Tulsa. UNLV has wins over Idaho State, Sam Houston, and UCLA. In what world are either of those resumes better than ours?

Oh 100%. They got ranked because they spent $60M on players. Only reason they’re moving up is because they keep winning, even if they’re a bunch of cupcakes. I hope we can humble them.

From past history, I get the feeling that Texas Tech significantly overpaid to become part of the CFP convo.
