That Temple/ ND game in a sold out NFL stadium was epic. It was their OU showcase game.
I’m a little more bullish on Temple than most here. They’ve been competitive in the AAC and they are essentially the University of Philadelphia…their downfall was failing to get an on campus stadium built.
You have to have a campus identity. It was why Briles and Sumlin always coached into a headwind.
Our stadiums give us a rallying point…like our own mead hall? They’re as much of a personality as our coach or our team.
I agree you have to have a place to call your own home. I like the buzz around Reliant games but when the game’s over you feel like you’re walking out into another city. It ain’t home.
Hopefully it was clear but I am not knocking Cincy. I believe that very few teams are dominant this season. All have looked vulnerable except for a select few. I give Cincy a chance. I am not sure I would bet on them to win but I won’t be surprised if they do - I think they are better than most CFB fans think and ND is not as good as their ranking (every season!).
I tend to lump ND in with UT, constantly overrated. Is all this love because they beat Wisconsin? Before that game the whole country was talking about what a terrible defense they have (the ND defense).
