Good analysis. I’d also like to see another QB, but our chances of signing a top one in ‘23 don’t seem great. We might get an under-the-radar guy, and Holman Edwards will be here. We might also find someone in the Portal.

Agree that RB and WR will be strong, likely among the top groups in the Big 12.

I’m hoping Logan Compton will be at least a competent tight end, and we have Matt Byrnes and Trent McGaughey.

The offensive line should be a strength even if Paul does go pro. The other four starters should be back, and Bowman ought to be ready to take over at LT, if necessary.

We’re going to need to bring in an interior DL, but Chidozie, Langi, Holmes, and unannounced commit JaMaree Caldwell should be here. DE should be set with Caesar, Strong, Tucker, Lawrence, and Beadles.

Ought to be fine at LB. Nunnery, Morris, Cheeks, and Garner will be available, and Payne is supposedly a future star.

In the secondary, we have two highly recruited corners, Moses Alexander and Justice Ugh, plus Hogan returns in ‘23, and Audi, Emery, Stroops, and Friend are coming up.

Should be good at safety with Hypolite, Brooks, Vaughn, Wilson, Guzman, and Welch.

The biggest question mark is Coley. If he comes through and plays well, I would think we will make a bowl and might even compete for the conference championship.

" So, for now, things are awkward. Among the games to look out for is a possible Texas trip to Houston, Oklahoma (and quarterback Dillon Gabriel) traveling to Orlando, plus Dana Holgorsen’s return to West Virginia."

“The Big 12 will become the first Power conference to span three different time zones, which sets the league up well for when Oklahoma and Texas leave and a new TV deal will be negotiated. It also makes for a fascinating two seasons with four new teams, along with OU and Texas still being in the mix.”

Doubles their TV revenue for 14 years.

2021-2024 ———2.5M per year

2025-2036 ———- $666,666.67 per year

Factor in rising inflation over the life of the payout and its even less.
Last contract I know of pays just shy of 7M per year for each school
.

You’ll have to explain to me how that doubles their tv revenue for 14 years.

A joke.

However, how long would you pay Rice 7 million a year?

Anyone know how long ESPN has to give notice to redo the $$$ on the existing AAC contract? Clock is ticking as of July 1st, 2023.

The AAC-ESPN TV deal has been the sports TV equivalent of a LA Purchase level bargain at the current price.

Final 4/Elite 8 (UH) and National Championship (UGone) CBB teams. Also all the big AAC games UH has played since we have been ranked.

The 1st G5 CFP team and lots of Top 25 CFB matchups.

The $$$ should have been much more but basically every game on an ESPN platform has been awesome.

We will miss the Navy trip. Done it twice, missed because of Covid, now the travel costs (and all of the inflation problems) may make it prohibitive . . . . .
