A lot of jokes have been made about UCF’s shoddy “erector set” stadium, but it turned out that just having a stadium at all makes such an enormous difference that it was definitely the right call.
Exactly! Most of these stadiums have been constantly renovated for 50, 75, 100 years. You can change the exterior facade, you can upgrade the seats, you can improve the interior finishes, add canopies, add/ impriovr the restrooms, add lighting and screens, etc. Having the location, on campus, is the thing that matters.
Raise your hand if you’re ready to stop talking about religion on this thread and get back on topic!
I was reading the ongoing debate and it tool a turn to tv ratings. Lol. Out of left field.
Maybe the American can entice Army and Air Force? That guarantees a nation wide audience?
Isn’t this thread on the eschatology of the AAC?
I think Air Force comes if Colorado State comes.
Army seems really reticent.
Whatever they do I hope they do it soon. I think the sooner they add new members it will make it easier fo us to leave by 2023
I’m not sure if racism allegations hold water, but I tend to think nepotism and the odd sexual allegations might have some weight, but again if we started kicking out schools that have sordid sex scandals then Baylor is first on the chopping block…now I also think Liberty’s location and small student enrollments aren’t as big an issue…I think they will have a sympathetic fan base of evangelical Christians. Fan support metric might be the best among all of the potential candidates.
I will be very surprised if the AAC selects them. I think there are quite a number of programs that fit the AAC profile before Liberty. I think they will select schools from larger media markets unless that school has a large viewership and Liberty has neither. This is why they are looking at UTSA. Just my opinion but we shall see.
The biggest red flag about Liberty with regards to NCAA membership is their giant online diploma mill which many see as for-profit. Same issue a lot of folks have with Grand Canyon U.
It’s not worth the risk if it ever all blows up.
Classic Coogfans. I come to get updates on conference realignment and find a debate on the history and significance of various Judeo-Christian religions.
Also, UTSA is a booming market with a great fanbase and little professional competition. The AAC would be silly to not jump at that opportunity.
Isn’t just about every university these days a for profit venture sucking at the teat of government student loan debt and full freight paying foreign nationals?
Only reason I picked them was location. I would have said a MAC school but don’t know if either side, schools or conference, would have any interest.
No Texas or Okie on 2022 SEC schedule coming out tonight.
It could be revised but the vibe for B12 and AAC movement seems to be trending 2023 all around.
For all UH sports other than hoop and track, nice to have a concrete move date to help recruit better talent.
2023 is the safest bet I think.
Hey guys…I just saw the TU schedule for the SEC in 2023…the highlights are as follows:
At Florida
At Georgia
At LSU
At Auburn
At Arkansas
OU neutral
At Ole Miss
At Bama

“Put simply, the Mountain West has proven to be a great home for the Aggies.”
People really shouldn’t refer to AFA as a “Colorado school”… yes that’s where it’s located but its recruiting and fan-base are national. (There appear to be exactly three players on its roster from Colorado.) Colorado State plus Air Force are one of those rare cases where two schools from the same area don’t really overlap in the important ways.
