What will our final AP poll ranking be?

Top 20?

Should teams that opted out of post season get an automatic reduction?

I don’t think 15-20 is far fetched

probably closer to 20, but a win over LSU should bump us up

One fact to consider… we are ranked #21 in CFP but that will not rerank. So we must focus on AP (#26) and Coaches poll (#24)… based on that I tend to agree we will be in the #18-#20 range in the end depending on how the other bowl games shake out.

I’m sure they’ll each drop a little as teams like ours went out and put out a good performance, but there shouldn’t be a penalty enforced by the AP.

Question is, what will the AP preseason poll ranking for next year be?

Unfortunately the preseason AP/Coaches Poll will exist.

Hopefully we’re in them, but it would be wonderful if there wasn’t a meaningful poll released until week 5.

I think we will be in the preseason poll based on who we have coming back. I think we will be around #20.

Curious about it since that is the one Nunez will use to market tickets.

Me too, with CW returning and coaching stability.

I have two goals for UH in the AP Final Poll:

  1. Don’t drop in the rankings because you beat a LSU team that wasn’t at full strength; and
  2. Rank somewhere between 15-20.

We are not going to drop and I am very confident that we will be in the poll since Mizzou and Gtech both lost and are directly in front of us. Hopefully Cincy can beat Navy… and I wish N Texas would of lost.

I won’t answer your direct question, but I will offer a way-too-early prediction for the record in 2026.

9-3

The 2026 schedule will be much more challenging than 2025, but Fritz is turning this team around faster than I thought. He matches this year’s total, and with a well-placed upset along the way, he may take the Coogs to the CCG.

Full strength…blah blah blah

Excellent post! No more grumbles from the tigers…

Outstanding post ! Put that in your SEC-SEC-SEC pipe and smoke it

So tired of the “not at full strength” rationalization. They got beat.

Imma go with 17

I’m think that that is about right.

Here’s the thing. It would be, I believe, our 19th final top 25 finish all-time when both the AP and Coaches Polls are taken into account.

A lot of I-FBS programs out there can’t match that.

Me thinks we’ll be ranked 6th or 7th next year
