Colorado is about halfway through the their 2nd season.
Their wins include:
• 3 Big12 teams with losing records
• 1 FCS team
• 1 G5 team
Their losses include:
• 2 power conference teams with winning records.
It’s too early too anoint Prime.
It’s also too early to dump on Fritz.
I’ve also seen on the boards people suggesting Khator & Tilman are at fault.
We require a NIL Action Committee and since it is so easy to mine the City of Houston for NIL, I select Joprior23 and UH 1927 to co-chair it. They should be able to take us to the National Championship working on this during lunch.
Great idea! And yes I will look forward to their report that they have mined the City of Houston for $100 million/year for the UH football program…but I do acknowledge that it may take them a few long lunches at venues like the Houstonian Club, the River Oaks Country Club, et al.
Colorado alums dumped buckets of $$$$ into the program so he could go out “get” his own guys … and he knew he had the $$ to buy them. But of course, he really didn’t buy them, their NIL was just so much better in Golden, CO than where ever they came from.
Now that Fritz has seen up-close-and-personal the lay of the land at UH: 1) his coaches’ performance; 2) his players’ performance; and 3) how much he is in NIL resources, Fritz needs to put the program in high gear and overcome the issues stunting the growth of this team.
Bad coaches? Replace them. Bad player performance? Recruit over them, bench them or invite them to transfer. Poor NIL? Fritz knew that coming in to the job. He has to recruit players where there are other incentives besides NIL. 1) An all star G5 player wanting to move up. 2) A 4 or 5 star at a P4 not getting playing time. 3) A high school recruit with skills that just need developing.
I think Fritz wants to get the season over with so he can begin remolding the team to his own vision.
I think Houston will be a Big 12 contender in year 4 for Fritz. This first year is painful, but we just have to go through it and know its going to get better.
