Better ask Tillman. A lot of that was his money. We all just better pray this won’t keep him from supporting this program in the future. But you could tell from his last interview that he realized Herman was probably gone.

If we hire Dana H, then $2M of it goes to West Virginia for his buyout.
We should sue right away, if we don’t get our money by next week. They already signed herman so
we should get our money pronto.

I really like Dana but why would he go to a G5? Unless he is fired I can’t see him leave.
Looks like he turned down a six year deal from WVU earlier this year.
Word is the WVU administration has soured on him, and he doesn’t really have a great relationship with their administration. He may be interested in a Tuberville scenario, where he gets out for a relatively good job while he still can.
FWIW — Rumor on the WV scout forum is that Dana has signed the extension and is waiting on approval from Gee. Posted as of 7:40 p.m. Saturday, November 26th.

Color me skeptical. First, it’s my understanding that presidential approval almost certainly happens before a contract is offered. Second, that thread was posted while the game was still going on. There’s almost no chance that this doesn’t leak from multiple legitimate sources post-game if it’s true.
Maybe Holgo gets an extension done, but regardless, it’s not signed right now.
