Where Ya At Willie Haters…

Their old Cotton Bowl wins don’t count as major bowl games because it was never designated as a BCS bowl game when it started in the 90s.

If you watched the Post game interviews, every player said he believes in coaches gameplan.
Connors said Nagle actually explains the why of the gameplan.
Weigman was asked if he saw something to do QB draws, he replied “the coaches did”

Tech has NEVER won a Cotton Bowl.

Age is not the problem. You have a “superstar” coach like Sanders who is relatively much younger that has already lost toes and fought bladder cancer and could have already died. What’s more important is how you take care of yourself. Willie’s age brings experience and high knowledge of the game.

'But we are just realizing that we wont be having good offenses under Fritz. It’s why I was against hiring him he never impressed me with his offense."

3-0 and scored 36. And we haven’t gotten a start like this in a decade. Let me guess, if we’re 4-0 after Oregon St., you’re going to say these were all cupcake teams?

"I better see grandpa Fritz’s office cleaned out on Monday morning.

This offense is taking us back to the Stone Age."

I’m so glad Fritz still hasn’t been fired.

Time will tell eventually.
There is not one head football coach I have not complained about since I became a fan.
CWF is no exception!

I look at all the playoff teams last year and they all had younger coaches who aren’t grandpas and none are in their 60s.

Oof lol. This aged like spoiled milk.

And we have Deon Sanders, the superstar primetime 58 yr old grandfather that gets all the press who lost his toes due to circulation issues and has battled bladder cancer and could have died.

I’m quoting you about Fritz about his office being cleaned out on Monday.

And if we go 4-0 against Oregon St, these same haters will say these teams we beat were all high school teams.

Your take is shallow and shows your ageism views.
Age alone doesn’t determine coaching success — experience, adaptability, and leadership do. Willie Fritz is 64, but he’s proven he can win (Tulane’s AAC title, NY6 win) and adapt to modern schemes.

Plenty of “grandpa” coaches have thrived like Nick Saban won a national title at 69, Mack Brown rebuilt UNC in his 70s, and Bill Snyder turned Kansas State into a powerhouse in his 70s.

If Fritz wins at UH, nobody’s going to care whether he’s 44 or 64. We haven’t had a record like this in a decade. How about enjoy the wins. Not everyone can become a national champion.

Saban may be old but he adapted and went away from the old ground and pound offenses and got QBs who can throw the ball and brought in offensive gurus to open up the pass.
He worked with Jimbo, Sarkisian, Kiffin

Bill Snyder wasn’t winning the recruiting battles so he innovated and used the JUCO system to his benefit.

Exactly, and that’s my point. The best coaches aren’t defined by age, they’re defined by whether they adapt.

Saban didn’t stay on top because he was young, he stayed on top because he evolved with the game. Snyder maximized what he had and built a system that worked in his context.

Willie Fritz has shown that same adaptability. Fritz modernized Tulane’s offense, leaned into the transfer portal, and built a winning culture with fewer resources.

At Houston, with Big 12 exposure and a bigger recruiting base, Fritz has the tools to do even more. We’re starting to see it. Without Fritz, we have no Weigman. Connor is the best QB latey I’ve seen since Ward Jr imo.

I will wait until we beat a playoff caliber team that has an elite QB and elite defense before I crown Fritz as the guy.

I’m not crowing Fritz. But you wanted him fired.

I mean only scoring 7 in the first half against Rice will anger people lol

lol I get it. I think Rice played it well at their place for one half. I was there.

As a fan of a team that beat a playoff team last year, has a top 10 winning record this decade, if you aren’t enjoy Fritz now, you won’t enjoy him when he beats a playoff team with a high caliber qb

I have said way worse things about Briles, Sumlin, Levine, Herman, Applewhite, and Holgorsen since I have been a fan.

Fritz has it mild compared to the guys I listed lol.

I’ve said things too. I truly believe if the same playoff system was around today, Case (with Sumlin staying) and Ward Jr. would be national champions. Oh well.
