to win the NCAA tournament?
- Great team from a strong conference (B12) that is battle tested through the season.
- Great team from a weaker conference that reaches March more healthy and rested.
to win the NCAA tournament?
To have been tested throughout the season but also deep enough to have been able to maintain good health.
With the way the kids are using the transfer portal and NIL these days, building depth will always be an issue.
*Gonzaga
*The ACC - that league gets alot of grief for being down, not good. But have had recent tournament success…maybe the ACC teams that do make the tournament are fresher/less fatigued
Look at NC State, Clemson, and past yrs North Carolina, Miami
Who knows…but I thought Texas Tech, BYU, TCU didn’t play good ball in conf tournament or NCAA tournament. Were not peaking at the right time
Houston & KU got the injury bug.
Agree about injuries being a factor.
Does a stronger conference (tougher games) translate to more injuries or is it just luck?
Just look to your champions the past ten years, Big East (UCONN x2, Villanova x2), Big 12 (Kansas, Baylor), and ACC (Virginia, UNC). UCONN was in the AAC in '14 when they won it, so nine out of ten years it’s been a school from a major conference.
True. However, you could argue the strength of the conference schedule across the major conferences are not necessarily the same, particularly year-to-year.
This goes for the blue bloods, too! In fact everyone is on an even playing field if you have money for NIL!!!
