The crowd looked great that night, and I would be ecstatic if we could have that crowd every home game. It drew more people than homecoming
We lost to Arizona the week prior, who is one of the worst teams in the league this year
our offense is as boring and bland as it can ever be
we are sub .500
Was is it really just the blue jerseys that got so many people to come out? Obviously we can’t wear those jerseys every game or it will lose its novelty.
I just don’t understand why we can’t achieve the same attendance every home game when clearly there’s proof it can be done
I think next year attendance will improve. Our non-conference slate will be much easier. We get to start off with a win against SFA. Then we’re on the road against Oregon St and Rice. Notching a couple early wins should help build some momentum for conference play. Then in conference play we get 5 home games instead of 4 like we got this year. Three of those game will likely draw well (Tech, TCU, and Colorado). The other two (Arizona and WVU) will probably be sub 30k unless we’re actually winning games.
IMO, this league will be up for grabs again next season so we can contend and being in the hunt will help attendance. I personally don’t worry about selling out every week but the atmosphere is a lot of fun when north of 30k
Definitely the hate factor with an in-state rival, the new color apparel, and just the last home game of the season. I sure hope next year is far better.
Senior night with 20 or so players graduating was a factor. There is a lot of Baylor alum in Houston. Promotions and the blue color helped hype the game. Last game of the season and there were a lot of students at the game. It was the best turnout this season.
well… we’ve only literally thrown almost all of our resources at establishing high ROI students so I hope so.
Not many Universities allow their academics to subsidize their athletics…usually it’s the other way around but Dr Khator WANTS us to be a Traditional University with Traditional students!
