Why LJ Cryer Is One of the Best Pickups in CBB

Can’t wait to play Baylor. The game in Waco will be wild when LJ takes the court. I expect the crowd to let him have it.

Why isn’t the NBA interested in him?

Seen as an undersized 2 guard right now. Needs to show he can play the point.

Also his athleticism.

Can he be a solid defender, can he get his own shot against good defense

Like @Jcoop9 mentioned his passing ability/playmaking for others

For smaller guards its an uphill battle. Sasser was 1st team all American and he still had to ball out at the combine/workouts to be taken late 1st round

He is very good and looked good in this 30 point effort against Creighton in last years tournament game:

I watched the highlights again and got a little Corey Davis vibe. Between Cryer’s scoring and Dunn’s height and developed game, I think we don’t miss a beat this year.

I can see the similarities with Corey on offense but defense was also a huge part of his game. If we get that level of defense from LJ we aren’t going to have many weaknesses.

Sorry to say, LJ is better offensively then Corey and Corey was good but he was not one of the top 3 scoring guards in the country. LJ is. Defensively, agreed, Corey was lot better a total lockdown defender. Hence, LJ learns to play close to it, watch out.

I agree! He has more tools in his bag than even Sasser!

Hopefully he gets to show his passing acumen.

For me he’s the most talented offense of force since Rob Gray.

His shooting splits for a 6’1 guard that has played 3 years in arguably the toughest bb conference are great.

I love how he shields his body from a defender who is trying to swipe at the ball. And he’s money from the free throw line.
