My understanding is that was with the previous HC recruits. It was like Herman getting the job after Levine and taking the team to the Peach Bowl.
I am glad to see Sean Allen being mentioned by the press and not just the message board.

True, but it is notable that the article was written by Manav Gupta, who is a UH alum. Definitely in this board’s orbit.

Berman was just reporting what Baldwin had written.
It does make me think that maybe Allen was the guy all along, and all the other leaks were head fakes or potentially negotiation tactics. But if it is Allen, he isnt a head coach, if he is and has been the guy they could announce it tomorrow. But maybe there is a reason they are waiting for him to be announced.

BTW, his USC team leads the nation this year with 9 shutouts….for those that don’t know, he is the pitching coach there.

Sampson was possibly the best hire ever at UH.
Coach Fritz is showing he was a tremendous hire.
Coach Lewis is the perfect track coach for UH.
Sean Allen would give us another outstanding coach and round out the big three of men’s sports.

The original list made no sense. It’s like someone asked ChatGPT for the answer and it spit out every coach in Missouri or Mississippi. Sean Allen is the answer. Get it done and let him build his staff. Trip Couch maybe?

Based on that article not surehope their list is longer than just a couple of coaches! All we know is that they said it’s a relatively short list. I know a lot of you all seem to be very high on Sean Allen. I care a lot about who we they hire because I have watched UH baseball on and off since the 70s. I even hiring a high character guy, but also baseball is such DETAILED sport. II have watched UH baseball make the same mistakes on the field ever since Frank Anderson left. Maybe Sean Allen is the answer but we don’t know because he’s not been a head coach. Where it all falls on him.

If my research is correct, the last time UH hired the head baseball coach at an NCAA school to become the head baseball coach at UH was when we hired Bragg Stockton in 1987.
