I didn’t even realize that Woody left in June. And back to San Jac? Interesting.
That’s what happens when you are micro managed and not allowed to coach the way you want to.
“Hell Pasadena, Tx is good enough”… sigh, but Pollard you always thought Woody was a one case study guy and had otherwise not proven to be the pitcher whisperer like made out to be.
I.e. Antoine Jean was his only really case study
True, but I don’t think he ever got the chance to run things the way he would have liked to.
He also needed better prospects to work with … was some of the lack of recruiting on him? Possibly, but I believe it mostly due to the mess of a program he was caught up in.
It seems like WW needs to do a better job of picking his coaching opportunities.
Very true, but as an alumni I’m sure he wanted to help his school….just didn’t know what he was walking in to.
Woody was not allowed to do anything last year after about 10 games. TW did the same thing he always does, which is to confiscate the pitching staff once the season goes downhill. It is obvious what happens as he starts to do the same thing every year. He starts controlling the staff, calls all atl the pitches, and has the same guys pitch every other game. They got lucky this year in that it didn’t cause as many injuries as it normally does. He just doesn’t care about the pitchers or the coaches on his staff.
