Would you like to see this? (ACC/Big12/Pac2)

It would be a conference too big for either the P2 or the networks to disregard, BUT…at the same time…it would probably be UNRULY to manage…and once monies are broken down between 30 schools…I’m not at all sure that there’d be enough bucks per school.

Absolute speculation. No news value.

How many times do we have to witness the cutting of throats in order to rid ourselves of these delusions of everyone merging together despite self interest to the contrary…

Should the SEC or Big 10 raid the ACC of its top brands, it will be a battle between a faction wanting to rebuild the ACC vs the Big 12 wanting to skim the remaining cream…

I suppose the point is to create a cartel for all content that isnt BIG10 or SEC. if the networks want the content they cant divide and conquer.

With relation? I think he meant with promotion/relagation. I can see this with a twenty team league but 30?

Call it the Big 12 Premier and the Big 12 First Division. Those in the Premier get the lions share of the wealth and those in the First, G5 levels. Split it in ten with the bottom teams getting promoted/relagated.

I still want Virginia Tech, Pitt, Syracuse, and Miami. Salty league.

NO i would not like to see this!! Our league is fine the way it is!!!

a scheduling agreement is NOT a merger…I have no problem playing them in non conference in all sports…Thats it…

Thirty (30) teams…no thank you.

Possibly take the best 4 teams available and become the BIG XX.

Let the leftovers go to the MWC, AAC or MAC.

Give it time. BY will build B12 hoop 2 the point.
Any B10/BE/SEC break away hoop tourney will never get massive $$$ without the B12.

The idea of it getting huge $$$ without B12 will seem ridiculous to the networks/ streamers.
BY will make sure that all B12 sports are in the mix if they want hoop.

No. It would be officially accepting relegation into tier 2 sports conference after the SEC and B1G. I know unofficially, we’re pretty much already there but still…

I actually saw a youtube video of a guy that proposed something similar with 30 teams broken down into 15 team east/west divisions.

But again…same deal.

A scheduling alliance just makes everyone’s SOS go up a bit OOC but tags about half the league with an additional loss per year. Is that going to generate more revenue per school? I don’t think so. If we were losing an additional game against the SEC it might be profitable.
I don’t think this is a serious proposal, however.

Sportskeeda is junk news that references Swaim, MHver3 and Jim Williams. It’s nothing but clickbait. National media outlets never reference those clowns.

Has anyone seen the story about the merger with the Mars and Venus football conferences.

It was really interesting. Let me see if I can dig it up…

It’s too many schools. The big names would never play and if hate develops you wouldn’t see them as often.

Horrible merger idea.

The one thing I like would be a weekend in September as a Big 12 vs ACC weekend. More scheduleing between the ACC and Big 12 to keep the Big 10 and SEC from getting more P4 OOC games.

Of course if Ohio St had 2 MAC teams, Sunbelt and a CUSA team for OOC and FSU had an AAC, 2 big 12 and a Sunbelt, then I bet SOS does not come into being a playoff factor.

Take out Cuse. BC. Duke. Smu and the 4 west coast schools and I’m in. 22 schools. Two 11 team divisions that are in 3 time zones. I’m not even opposed to taking that down to 20, and keeping 2 strongest of Pitt. Louisville. GT. and WF for a total of 20
