I just read the incident. F-- weak. Not nefarious. Just spreading weakness through your team. He made a spectacle of himself for the most embarrassing reason. Smh
That seems to be as true at UH as anywhere else.
Check out our football roster and note the number of “Integrated Studies” majors.
That’s a degree that basically allows you to have NO major, but rather, two or three minors instead. Just find the five or six easiest courses/professors in two different fields, and you are set!
By contrast, you hardly ever see architecture, engineering, or hard science majors on the team.
I wonder which majors are most popular among football/basketball players at Rice.
Let’s get this thread back on topic please.
With the amount of time required for studio in Architecture, it would be impossible for an athlete to achieve that degree. At least it was like that 20 years ago.
No doubt.
I’m just curious as to what the “athlete friendly” majors at Rice would be.
Certainly not Engineering or Architecture.

I didn’t even bring that stuff up.
But if anyone else introduces the topic, as they did, I see nothing wrong with asking a follow on question. It’s not exactly off topic at that point.
That said, if you aren’t a moderator or the owner, I’d advise against giving orders concerning what or where to post. If it isn’t outside the posting guidelines, I’ll post something where I feel it best fits….especially when it is in response to someone else on the same string discussing the same subject matter.

Yes. I’m tired of Whitting in his bad product.
I’m sick of our feckless, toothless, gutless AD’s.
Whitting should take over the AD’s office and put the AD on a leash with a 3in wide spiked leather collar

Agree 100%
Apparently the UH administration is not…

Only thing good about this is Nuñez gave me a good reason to do more voluntary work around the community instead of watch UH Baseball on weekends.
At least the work will be worthwhile, unlike our baseball program.
I told you this new AD would be worthless
At least we know that the AD is limited, and that Whitting is in a protected class. The only fire that dude has in his belly is from eating Flamin’ Hots and chasing them with Gatorade.
We weren’t the worst program in the conference this year, so we’ve got that going for us, which is nice.
Maybe we can get the top rated Juco class again….its worked so well in the past.
No sense piling on Nunez, this was a multi level decision. So many moving parts. Madam Khatur, Nunez, Whitings donor friends, and the others that commit so much. Sampson’s new contract, huge basketball NIL commitments, and the 20 million salary cap for athletes are an enormous outlay of available funds. While not the result I was hoping for, I get it.
Just happy we are moving forward in women’s basketball and softball. I know those aren’t fan favorites here on Coogfans, but those had priority at this point.
People wanted to give Nunez credit for making other changes and getting Sampson’s deal done. He can’t take that credit and skate on this.
