You tired of Whitting yet?

Should have been fired after 2021

If the funds ain’t there and resources - do we fire someone just for the sake of it only to have them complain why their losing in their first year?

Sampson lets you know what he still needs when he’s winning so imagine a coach whining and losing cause he’s going to want way more out the gate

Just for the sake of it?

Ummm….no.

Failure and incompetence are a pretty good start if you’re looking for legitimate reasons. Keeping him also costs money because he’s killed whatever fan support we had left. Only hope is to sign a bunch of local kids so their families will hopefully show up.

We spent over 600K to hire a WBB staff. You have to learn how to prioritize your money in an athletic department. As far as I can tell, Caitlin Clark is not joining the team so there will be no giant influx of fans going to the games anytime soon. You have a once proud baseball program that needs a giant jolt. You tell me who’d you give the money to?

And, you can turn around a team very quickly in baseball. I promise you, the other coaches are thrilled TW is staying. They know how great this program could be.

My cousins went to Arkansas St. and asked what I thought about Pez. I told them it will be his first real job as an AD because while at UH, he was “Vice President of Intercollegate Athletics” and it seems the school president and one big time donor call most of the shots when it comes to sports.

That would be the right speed for TW….he could checkout the Wal-Mart museum.

Whitting has been a screw up since at least 2012. Refused to recruit my best friend. Who was from the Houston area. And was begging to come here.

Instead, he went to Tech and was a first team all Big 12 player en route to their first ever college World Series.

My son was being recruited by several perennial top 25 teams….played at tournaments on the UH field three straight summers from freshman to junior year.

Grew up going to UH games from the time he was a little guy.
Would have happily gone to UH if they had a competitive offer……well, no offer at all.

As far as I know TW, nor any UH coach ever even laid eyes on him.

He wound up starting for an in-state Big 12 team and might have even been All-conference a time or two before he graduated.

Just checking in with everyone today!

How are yall feeling about the job he’s STILL doing?

There has to be something more than money that he keeps coming back. All of us would have been fired 10 years ago.

Well he ain’t coming back after this season lol

Of course there is.

It’s called blackmail

If he can beat the Islanders tomorrow he should be back.

I thought the UT win got him an extension lol…

It just hasn’t been signed and announced yet. :no_mouth:

Honestly, with the proximity of where UH is and the conference affiliation……TW has to be considered one of the worst coaches in the country.

That’s not even factoring his bush league antics or the way some coaches and players have been treated.
