I thought that after the 2021-2025 seasons.
I think less than 1%.
His contract is up
To be fair, we have extended him when that happened before.
But he’s gone this time.
The only extension he should be getting is a few days to clean out his office.
The best possible scenario would be to get one of the guys from UTSA or Texas St. and hire Sean Allen as an associate head coach/pitching coach. Don’t know if he would do it but it is worth a try.
I doubt that’s in the cards, but I’m with you. Regardless of how great he’s been as an assistant, there’s always a risk when you hire a 20+ year assistant as a first-time head coach.
If he needs any help cleaning out his office, I can start immediately.
Speaking of, the coaches from those schools had quite the dust up last night. It was all over twitter.
In most situations yes……but this guy knows more baseball than TW ever dreamed of….he also has great relationships all across the state.
This is the head job he has been waiting for his entire career.
Saw some Texas st guys crying like little bi-ches.
And yes, the Texas st assistant coach put his hand on Pats chest which is when Pat shoved him.
Pat seems really wound tight. I’ll never forget him being an assistant at Rice and being an absolute DBag and screaming at UH fans like a lunatic. He does seem to be a really good coach now. I really couldn’t tell much from the clips from I saw last night. Looked like a run of the mill dust up between teams

I get all of that, but he hasn’t done it yet at any level, and knowing more baseball than the other guy just means he’s a better coach, not necessarily a good head coach.
I’m not worried if he gets the job, and if we’re going to hire any first-timer, it should be him, but he’s an unproven commodity as a head coach.

pro: So was Noble when we hired him.
con: So was Whitting when we hired him.
Yes Sir…he’s plugged in with those that know. He’ll improve our recruiting on Day 1 and the sloppy play that’s been allowed for years ends as well. He’ll kill it here IMO
I feel he was born for this opportunity…to rise us from the void of mediocrity. Whoever is hired, I believe will raise us up…but…they have to have that pipeline to the coaches that actually know their kids and are realistic if the kid can play D1 and not just pumping sunshine

I think Sean Allen is worth the risk.
David Pierce had 23 years of coaching experience (high school HC/AC, D1 AC) before SHSU hired him as HC. My guess is he only took that job because mack rhoades made the bad decision to pass on him.
This is the head job he has been waiting for his entire career.
I’m inclined to believe that too. It could be SA just doesn’t want to take the route some coaches take, using lesser programs as steppingstones to get closer to the jobs they really want.
Only 2 games until the pink slips are handed out…Hopefully.
Coogs lose 4-3 in game 1 and officially eliminated from the conference tournament.
Todd’s totally expected double steal in the bottom of the 8th fails again. What a surprise. PUTZ!!!
I just hope he’s already paid for a U-Haul.
