Had a WVU alum that I worked with that thought his
didn’t stink after WVU got into the B12 and we were still stuck in the wastelands of college sports…
So… SUCK IT WVU!!!
Hope they keep losing!

I picked Arizona State because one of my high school buddies went there. What’s weird (and nice) about the Big 12 for me is I don’t really dislike any of the teams, except Tech and Baylor, and some of that goes back to the SWC days for me.
Same here, hard to describe to people. The mountains are so green, and the mountainous roads at 4 p.m. look like dusk is already setting in. The apple pie moonshine will tickle your fancy.
Life is old there, older than the trees
There is a difference between loving a team and rooting for a team. I root for B12 teams when they play OOC opponents, especially, the other P3s. The better the conference does as a whole, the more money in our pockets with media and NIL contracts.
The B1G and SEC operate that way, and the B12 should too.
Agreed, except Utah
Favorite three teams are:
Coogs
Whoever is playing Utah
Whoever is playing Texas A&M
OSU because their fans are some of the best people in the United States.
Iowa State because I live in Iowa and don’t give a rat’s ass about the Hawkeyes. @RezClone
Depends upon the sport imo.
Hoops is Iowa State. Fun rivalry, great fans, and just likable.
Football I’d go with Okie State. Nice fans. History that goes back to MVC days. And they scheduled us after we were dumped by SWC.
I generally root for everyone else except Baylor, Tech, and Utah. Baylor is gross. Utah can kick rocks. And Tech cheats. #clockoperator
Edited to add that OSU was very helpful with TDECU. Gave detailed tour of renovated football stadium to UH administrators and basically told us to build new because there were so many hidden costs with their renovation.
Everybody loves Hypnotoad.

I love my guy @EndlessPurple but when I went to the UNC-TCU football game last season the TCU fans I ran into after the game were some of the snottiest, frattiest, douchebags I’ve ever talked to…
Other TCU fans were cool in the stadium and gave me some “Go Coogs” love because of my shirt.
Those douchebags definitely didn’t want TCU to be associated with UH in any manner…
Absolutely not surprised. Think I mentioned that after the game. I would guess many of the younger crowd fits that description now-a-days. Much more midwest middle class when I was there.
“Not associated with UH” can fit the young snobs but also some of the SWC days people. But most TCU fans from then simply were used to a team that the school did not support in the 70s/80s… so not really threatened by a good UH.
It’s also just kind of a faux pas to be That Guy™️ and show up to the stadium wearing gear from some random uninvolved team.
In the past maybe it was, not so much anymore. Done all the time in pro sports.
Still super lame in pro sports. Nobody likes the dude who shows up in, like, a Steelers jersey to a Colts/Texans game or whatever.
GTFOH with that dumb sh!t… you think I’m gonna wear a TCU shirt or UNC shirt… No, I’m gonna wear a UH shirt because that’s the school I rep and I’m there as a Houston fan to watch their teams.
Faux pas… ![]()

C’mon, man, it doesn’t have to be a TCU or UNC shirt (I wouldn’t wear those either!) but at least something in a neutral color that doesn’t have another team’s logo on it. Hornets/Panthers/Canes stuff would even have worked.
Me at Dook-Pitt… BTW no Dook fans found it to be a faux pas… many great conversations about IH and Dook basketball were started because of it, though…
I’m not wearing some neutral shirt like a punk… I’m letting them know a Houston fan is in the house… in basketball they love to talk about how they’ll see us in the tourney.
Don’t let other people dictate what you wear, or do, bud… life lesson for you… ![]()
Attention-seeking behavior. Personally, I don’t go to other teams’ games to have conversations about the Coogs.
Guess what… IRDGAF what you do… or think… I’m ALWAYS ready to talk about the Coogs…
There’s levels to this… ![]()
The only one I wouldn’t wear byu gear to a game as a neutral is Utah. Don’t need to be stoned.
But it’d probably día neutral shirt and a byu baseball cap
