I see aggie and ut crap ALL the time at UH games. Like every home game.

TCU is interesting. I graduated Kinkaid in 1989. The kids that went to TCU were generally well liked. Just nice folks. I think the top 10% rule at UT really changed TCU. All of the super rich kids that dreamed of going to UT could basically buy their way in back then with the summer session. Just needed parents who could afford to pay for the private dorms like Hardin House and the courses. Dirty pledging was also huge. The bottom half of Kinkaid flocked to UT other than the few hella smart kids doing Plan II. Now that door is mostly closed and the two schools that took off in popularity after that were TCU and Georgia. Looking at who goes to TCU now versus then and the crowd is very different.
My oldest niece grew up in Ingram outside Kerrville. She went to TCU but transferred out. Her reason? “At Ingram I was bullied for being a rich kid. At TCU I’m looked at like country white trash.”

I think if you go to a game you have a responsibility to be a non-intrusive part of the crowd. To me, it’s like a girl wearing a white dress to someone else’s wedding. It ain’t your (team’s) day, don’t make it about you.
What is the etiquette for something like a baseball regional or the College Classic where several games are played daily? In order to be responsible, is everyone obligated to bring a neutral-colored shirt with them to change into if they want to watch the games that don’t involve their team?

I understand your analogy, and respect you for using it to try and make your point, but I simply don’t agree with it…
Wearing a White Dress to a Wedding (unless you’re the bride) is absolutely wrong.
Wearing a Coog jersey to a conference game (when UH isn’t one of the teams playing) is just a matter of pride and not a “slight” to anyone there.
If “bringing attention to yourself” at college football games makes someone persona non grata, then 3/4 of the crowd at games would not be welcome to attend.
The fact that it stands out doesn’t make it insulting, or even a “slight”, to anyone.
To tell you, more specifically where your analogy falls short, I’ll use my own comparative example…
What you seem to imply is that a punch in the face is the same as having a difference of opinion.
We can simply disagree…

I agree that Arizona and Arizona St. have sun tanned hotties, but I play the long game. Those sun tanned hotties will end up with skin that looks like a prune when they get older.
Still, I can’t wait for Arizona and Arizona St. fans to come to TDECU.

I think feeling the need to carry your pride into an event where your team isn’t present is a bad look. It implies to me that you’d rather be somewhere else, which is rude, and I personally would consider it an insult (albeit a mild one). If you can’t be bothered to leave your fandom at home and act like you’re interested in the game, why show up?
This is certainly a thing where reasonable people can disagree, though.

I wore my UH shirt to the 2023 Final Four when we hosted it in Houston.

I think most neutral-site events (basically anything except recurring rivalries like the Army/Navy or Florida/Georgia games) are different in that they tend to be more of a celebration of the sport as a whole. MTEs, Bowl games, the Super Bowl, etc., are more general events than a game in a team’s home stadium.
You should have seen all the LSU and Horn fans at our games in 2016 when Herman was here.
I remember there was a group of Horns fans hate watching at our game vs Oklahoma in 2016.
