With just 12 scholarships for men, I guess we give all that funding to sprinters. They had seven of the top nine spots in the 200 prelims.

I believe there are 18 scholarships for women. There must be more competition for top women and teams spread that across field, XC and sprinting events.

Sprints are definitely our focus.

Although in upcoming meets we always have to count on the entire field and mid-distance runners to complement our sprinters

In last year’s nationals Georgia beat us with his 2 field stars

Adejokun finishes 3rd in the shot put.

Samuels finishes 4th in the Long Jump.

Wague finishes 7th in the Heptahalon.

Solid point totals. The women have a shot at the title as well. Distance events are probably an issue.

Naomi Taylor qualifies as #1 for the 100m Hurdles. Not a big surprise.

We’re going to need some help from the distance runners to get the title. Sorensen will be key as she’s running the Steeple and the 5K.

Lattin just won his heat of the 110M hurdles by 0.6 seconds. On to the finals

Two other men’s Coogs won their heat so at least three Coogs in the finals.

Dunlap and Gonzales qualify 4th and 5th in the 1500m. Solid
would be huge for the ladies if those two could score tomorrow.

Coogs get nothing in the Men’s Long Jump. Disappointing outing. Jefferson didn’t Jump.

Men’s shot put sees the Coogs in 1st and 2nd right now though. Valencia leads with Gibbons 2nd going into the final round.

Valencia takes gold, Gibbons silver. 1st 2 medals for the men this weekend.

Coogs get 4 in the 400m final. Montgomery and Holt finish 1-2. Valentine and Lewis finish 5-6 in qualifying.

Just realized no Brianne Bethel either. Wonder if we’re redshirting her and Hawkins this year.

Women get 1 through to the 100m final. Freshman Cecila Tamayo-Garza qualifies in 4th.

Good thing Ware made it after that slow start. Just in by 0.02 seconds.
