Class of 2019 offers

I’ve seen lots of tweets from this young man. What he seems interested in is attention. He basically begged for UH to offer him which took a while and we were the first. Now that he’s getting attention from others, he’s milking it for everything it’s worth. This is probably one of those kids who, if he doesn’t sign for a team in the early signing period, he’s going to be left out in the cold. Just my opinion.

Let him go to Syracuse/Siberia.

It’s early, let the kids get his attention. One of the best parts of recruiting is the constant wooing from people. I say soak it in early get down to business come summer.

Syracuse offered him right before Amie’s visit as it seems that they’re good friends.

Honestly, WR is going to be a tough position to crack into the lineup the next few years as we’re deep and young at that position. Wouldn’t be surprised to see kids scared off by that.

Maybe, but none are entrenched, so it actually could be the opposite. Now if we have three 1,000 yard receivers this year and they are all underclassmen, then you may have a strong argument.

Exactly. We have a lot of WRs but none have really shown much. Lark had some great catches and some drops, Corbin had the 49 yarder and a bunch of drops, neither can block. I’d say WR 2018 is wide open.

I think that could happen at QB if we don’t get some separation between our guys. If King starts this year, Smith backups, and we offer a 2019 QB, I hope we don’t redshirt Tune. The QBs will be really close together. It’ll be interesting to see how it’s handled going forward.

Corbin, Lark, and Stevenson could be deadly! Williams and Sawyer could rotate in the slot. We just need a wr coach who can teach our guys how to get open. There is so much talent there.

I don’t know. I think I would redshirt Tune unless/until it looks like we might need him. I’m all about preserving eligibility when we can because you never know who might get disenchanted and leave, retire due to concussions or other injury, or just not pan out.

I’m sure KB is going to retain a lot of control over coaching WRs. Maybe Clements can teach them to block. I’m just really looking forward to throwing the ball down the field again.

From what I saw the problem is catching the ball more so with Corbin but Lark had some drops too and neither blocked well at all. Stevenson is an unknown as is Singleton.

Every time the ball was thrown to Corbin this year I internally yelled the infamous line from Necessary Roughness - “Not to stone hands!!!”

LOL!

Texans really have a distorted view of the rest of the US. While Syracuse does get quite a bit of snow (I know, super scary for Texans) the average winter temps are not too bad and the summers are gorgeous, upstate NY has a ton of beautiful lakes and very mild temps in the summertime. Just Google the finger lakes and you’ll know what I’m talking about. While I understand that it’s not for everyone can we stop belittling the rest of the country as dull, unimportant, or some terrible vast wasteland?

I live in Vermont and have to go to the Syracuse area a couple of times a year. While the finger lakes are nice, I would have to agree that most of upstate new york including Syracuse is a barren wasteland empty of humankindness or culture. Imagine a very cold Arkansas.

I was born in New York City Queens I know New York Weather. Have you ever been to Buffalo in the winter?

We COULD do that, but do you think the 38 Syracuse fans are extolling the virtues of Houston? Gonna go way out on a limb and guess that they probably don’t have anything positive to say about our great city, state or university.

It’s not about Syracuse fans or really any other group of fans. For me it’s about the way Texans carry themselves. I generally get an eye roll from people when I tell them I’m from Texas, like I’m about to give them a 45 minute PowerPoint presentation about how great the state of Texas is. In my experience the rest of the country feels like Texans think they are above everyone else and comments like these don’t help things. I just get sick of the attitude, that’s all

I have, lots of snow. I have also been to Houston in the summer, hot as hell. What’s your point?
