That sounds like a Shaka situation. Taking lesser touted guys and coaching them up. He’s better at that than winning with prima donnas.

Shaka got away from playing his havoc style at UT and hasn’t been the same. AAC definitely needs a strong Wich st program to get the respect it deserves.

Good Writeup
At TSU and Fertitta Center, I had a decent view of the visitor bench. Sampson will get after a guy for mistakes but not in a way Marshall did with his players. He would have a smile on his face but the words definitely were not happy ones. I am sure he is not the only ones but I was thinking it seemed more tough than love in his tough love approach. Hate to see Wichita St decline but probably for the better they parted ways.
Wichita State is a good job. I think they will get a good coach.

Not understanding. I would think that this sort of “cause” would substantiate not having to pay him out.
It would go to court if they didn’t pay him. He has many former players coming to his defense so it would get messy for WSU. In the Corporate world it is easier to “eliminate a position” than try to fire for cause - the paperwork and burden of proof is pretty heavy and you will end up in court most times.
Especially when it’s almost certainly boosters, and not the school, paying that settlement.

Heck of a coach but it obvious he has anger issues…hopefully he’s able to work that out.
