Certainly Whitting will be here next year, unless he chooses to leave.
I do think that it’s fair to ask whether the program has peaked under his leadership. If after all these years Whitting hasn’t taken us to Omaha, when will he? Can he?

That is definitely a good question. Even Whitting acknowledged before the season that the expectations have changed and that just making the NCAA tournament isn’t enough anymore.

I’m not going to give up on the team, but it has been a disappointing year after the last few seasons and the pre-season hype.
I agree… really really hard to get any motivation for this team at this point. But I will continue to go to games when I can. Just sit and be frustrated at how the season has gone.

16 runs and still lose. What else could it be but lack of good pitching?
I’m trying to see what Whitting has done that is anything beyond what Noble achieved. For the surplus of resources and wealth of players in the area he has achieved mediocrity. He’s getting a major pass because he’s an alum and has been for a few years.
