NSD Thread Class of 2018

Ya, I don’t think people realize that Syracuse is a little over a 4 Hour drive from New York City. It’s kind of like saying Baylor had a good recruiting class because Houston is a really cool place to live.

Chance changed his mind? One his best friend choose Syracuse.
Was he afraid of the competition? It is only fair to ask. Either way you have to believe in your own abilities.
Did he choose P5 over G5? Only Chance knows.
Am I disappointed? Of course I am but I keep in perspective two things. One is believing the potential that your home town has. Two is choosing to build a legacy. On both of these points it is evident that Chance did not buy in. We need to learn from this. I surely hope we do. The worst thing is to move on and not find out the real reasons why he choose Syracuse. He might never tell us but CMA should try to get the answer even if it hurts.

They finally rated Gleson, .8100.

I noticed that Bo’s rating increased to .8167 after he flipped his commitment. He was .8000 before.

I wouldn’t be critical of the kid going to Syracuse. That’s a great school. I damn near went there myself. They practice and play indoors so the weather is not as much of a factor as you might think. Also, QB might be the least important position in this recruiting class. Smith is going to be a 4 year college player + King.

In 2015 and 17 we had to go to our third string QB. I think if we have only 2 viable QBs in 2018 we will be in trouble.

Both King at 190 and Smith under 200 for sure are under-sized. It is very unlikely that either will make it through an entire season without missing playing time due to injury.

We’ll still have McClendon and he’d probably be the 3rd string even if Amie was able to make it in. I would imagine any freshman coming in wouldn’t play unless King and Smith were injured long-term.

Looks like we’re going after Clayton Tune now and there will probably be a walk-on or two coming in.

We are 4th in acc? Is that correct?

The players addressed the crowd — albeit somewhat begrudgingly with a hint of bashfulness — to thank those who made it all possible.

Both players first verbally committed to the Cougars in June. After this initial three-day window, the next chance for football players to sign is Feb. 7.

“It’s really exciting having the whole community come out and support. Belton’s always been great about that,” Vaughn said. “This town lives and breathes football, so it’s been a pleasure to play for all these people.”

And to the delight of many, Banes will further a legacy at the same campus where his football playing father Joey carved notable distinction while making lifetime memories, where his mother Linda was a cheerleader and assistant in the Cougar recruiting office, where his sister Tayler will graduate in 2018 and his brother Trevor ‘16 is a sophomore.

“I just wanted to become part of the [UH] family,” said Freeman, who doesn’t plan to enroll early. “I was really comfortable down there. Coach [Major] Applewhite really reminds me of Coach Wig.”
