I love this combo!

Very neat, very cool.

Foot on the gas until you have a 2+TD cushion in the 2nd half. You need to run a lot of plays.

Dave is right slowing down is not the Briles way and that’s who CMA handed the keys to. Everyone complains when the offense sputters after we have a lead but part of that is probably CMA telling CKB to take his foot off the gas to preserve the W.

I’m not saying this is happening but big picture if CMA keeps barking at CKB to slow down it may contribute to CKB taking his talents elsewhere. He came here to run his offense autonomously.

He isn’t telling him to slow it down. Last week it sputtered after our second possession.

Navy TOP is 34:28 this year. That leaves 25:32 for UH.
UH has had ball for 24:50…so if we can keep them to there average we would have ball more than our avg. UH is running 3.11 plays per min.
Navy opponents have had 12.83 possessions…UH has had 16. 13 possessions should be plenty .
Navy opponents run 4.99 plays per possession. 64 per game.
But Navy opponents have run 2.51 plays per minute or snap it every 23.90 seconds…we go at 3.11 plays…snap every 19.30. UH can run 79 plays if we keep them to their avg TOP according to my calculations

Nice breakdown. Cannot allow them to dominate TOP and cut down the number of UH possessions. And UH cannot afford too many empty possessions.

Navy playing their best ball because its UH? WHAT??? Navy will play their best football and have the most drive and emotion when they play ARMY. Then Notre Dame, then Air Force…We are 4th on their list of big rivals they want to beat, and thats mainly because we are always good…theyll be ready because they always play good at home…But WE will be ready too…Its an important game for us.

I’m not saying slow it down so the D can get players in and out. I’m saying slow it down so we can get in the correct formation.

CTO and CMD run polar opposite schemes and get the similar results. Elite run defense with abysmal pass defense. I wonder what CMD’s defenses would look like with WJIII, Stewart, and McDonald in the secondary.

I think CMD has done the best he can with the talent on hand.

Navy moved the ball in this game.

Barry Switzer was asked if there was a secret to stopping the option. He basically said you have to have a fast man taking out the pitch man regardless of who gets the ball. Basically, he has to run right by QB and nullify the outlet before the decision is made. I guess he meant you just have to hold the QB under 3.33 yds per carry…lol.

Note: That is extreme paraphrasing as I remember the interview around 2005.

It appears as though the weather is going to cooperate for us. Any rain should be moved out early tomorrow morning, and forecast calls for cloudy and high 60s at kickoff. Navy’s only solid win this year came in a deluge against Memphis when the Tigers couldn’t move the ball.

So in 2016 when Navy won the division, hosted the championship, and was favored against Temple who was not that good were they actually trying win that game or were they just looking ahead to Army?

If Navy went 2-10 but the two wins were AF and Army that would be a successful year right? They would win the Commander trophy.

I wish we would add Army and AF to the AAC. It would stoke rivalries and interest in our league big time. There would be a service academies vs everyone else narrative every year. It would be really fun. Having just one service academy in our conference is kind of weird.
