UH vs Providence (W 70-59)

The officiated was biased. Yes! But we should not change the tempo when we are winning. I remember
a national championship game we were winning until we went into a slowdown. If you are winning at a
certain tempo–just keep it up.

Great win. Nice hustle and rebounding. The bigs did a lot of dirty work tonight and it made our guards shine at times. Brooks is locked in and dangerous off the bench.

You do know where ESPN is located and as I found in the mid-60’s…College basketball was invented and still is played best in the NE corner of the country !!!:sunglasses:

The Coogs closed out a team on the road despite going cold and dealing with some really frustrating officiating late in this one. That’s what really good teams do. I don’t know if I’d definitely call this a really good team, but they were damn close to being 12-0 with 3 top 64 Ken Pom wins (2 of them away from Houston). Certain aspects of this team can be frustrating and you can see CKS get frustrated at times, but this is a better team than any we’ve had in a while.

I really like what Galen has done the last two games. Obviously I take a deep breath when he takes an outside shot, but he is so strong and athletic and can pretty much get to the basket at will.

The refs were driving Sampson crazy. I’m kinda shocked he didnt get a tech. And galen and rob in the second half, both had some beautiful drives to the bucket. Defense was great all game except maybe 5 possessions. Really good game.

That’s a good win last night. Up to 39 in Ken Pom ratings. Should be able to cruise into 12/30 game vs Temple. Looking forward to that one.

Galen has become someone I depend on. When he is in there he provides stability
and makes the opponents’ full court presses a waste of time

We start 3 guys with legit PG handles. When teams press against us we should say thank you.

Loved Fluff. First sighting of him for me since he left. I think he still holds the all-time single game scoring record.

Dwight Davis was a little before my time, but I believe he was on the '72 Olympic team that was robbed in the gold medal game and have continuously refused to collect their silver medals. I think it was 30 for 30 or 30 for 30 Shorts that did a special on that team. Doug Collins was on there, and I can’t remember who else. Maybe Bill Bradley?

here’s a blog about the special and a link, but link isn’t working.

a google search or search on espn.com ought to do it

It’s short–I highly recommend it.

EDIT: Turns out I was wrong. It was Dwight Jones that was on that team. Still a great 30 for 30 to watch.

Sat thru that game in Albuquerque. Mid court about 20 rows up. Never did understand why we went into the 4 corners game when we did. It was a long trip home following that game . . . . .

We beat a Big East team on the road. Not bad at all. I like what I see in this team. Sampson has them playing good, smart basketball. Passing is still a problem, but they are playing hard from opening tip to final buzzer.
