After the hosts were announced, Baseball America is predicting the Houston Regional will be…

Houston
Texas
Rice
Texas Southern

My prediction, as well. About as favorable as we could ask for.

With all the stolen bids, A&M’s 2-8 finish may put them on the outside looking in.

Matched up with Lubbock. Tech’s tough, but I’d be OK with this.

D1 has the same prediction for our regional, but pairs us with North Carolina:

While I like the regional flavor to the prediction of TSU, UT and Rice, I would not mind Rice being sent to Fort Worth or Lubbock. They went 18-4 or something like that to close the season out.

wow, UT to the west coast.

TSU and Rice to Baton Rouge

we get the hardest regional per ESPN with Baylor, A&M, and Iowa

What do you want to bet that UT said they didn’t want to come to Houston for fear of losing to us ?

Gonna be a great atmosphere.

I hope the atm destroys #RapeU in the first game.

Good regional. Not sure if it’s the toughest though.

Iowa won the B1G tourney…but, it’s the B1G tourney. They aren’t a great team and the Coogs should beat them.

Aggies we’re on the bubble and barely made it in this year. They beat everyone they were supposed to, but lost to good teams. They also lost 8 of their last 10.

Baylor has been good and they beat us 2 out of 3 at their place, although, that 1st game was a toss-up. Bears have gone through some down periods though as they lost 8 of 10 about mid season and have lost their last 4 games heading into the tourney.

Should be fun and if our kids play like they did last week, we should be happy come Monday. Plus, we didn’t get matched up with Oregon State’s region.

Per NCAA regional policy, Baylor, A&M and Iowa are guaranteed an allotment of 200 tickets for each game they play.

“The rest of the stadium needs to be sold out to Cougar fans,” Yurachek said. “We’re proud of what our team has accomplished. They’ve done their part, and now we need Cougar fans to step up.”

“It’s a good city, our guys seem pleased with that, and we know we’ll see some good teams,’’ Heller said. “At this time of year it doesn’t matter who we play. It’s just a matter of who’s playing well and who’s not. Three Texas teams and ourselves, there will be some good baseball played.’’
