16 Team Playoff with 10 Auto-bids

Because the country let them get away with it so the CFP governing body is going to do whatever they want until those issues are challenged seriously by another governing body.

So far they have not been challenged so why would they comply with any decent and honorable suggestions?

I couldn’t disagree more. Most conferences have adopted scheduling requirements that say each team has to schedule at least one P5 non-conference matchup each year. The reason for this is for the strength of schedule debate the pops up every year when deciding the playoff teams. It’s the reason we saw Notre Dame-UGA and Texas-LSU this year.

I’m sure the phone is ringing off the hook at Oregon State, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Rutgers. I would still advocate conference champions have to qualify for the playoff. Use SOS as part of the formula if want for seeding.

Sure use the SOS for seeding but the four or six at large should have the lowest seed. That way the so called better Schools can prove (probably will) that they are better than the so called “low life scum Schools” like the media would want you to believe. The point is that THEY, the 10 Conference Champions get a chance to play in the cfp. This is the only way for a true National Champion.
This mind boggling. Would could even be against it? The entire Country would love it. The entire Country would be involved in it.
The money generated would put to shame March Madness. What a great way to kick start the National interest for the true National past time.

The sports world loves a Cinderella story. No "Cinderella’s " with 4 teams as it currently stands. I went to bed at 10 last night. It did not matter to me who won.

Tv ratings don’t back up that Cinderella story claim.

Moncoog???
Do you understand that what you wrote is equal to a double negative?
How would you or anyone know since not one G5 School has been allowed, permitted, given the golden ticket to take part of the cfp.
Why on earth should it be about tv ratings anyways? If it were the case for any sport you would have the same four Teams partake in the nfl, mls, nba, mlb and every amateur competition.
Is this supposed to be about sport or not? Right now it is not. This is why it has to change.
Your argument goes against the meaning of sports competition.

Yeah, I think in the tourney you see major issue with diminishing returns viewership with Cinderella teams, usually pressing with the sweet 16 or 8 sometimes.

But by the time the final four rolls around, people typically want to watch the end it’s programs square up. At least least time I looked at ratings history that’s kind of how it bore out.

Chris, first it’s about money then sport then education. I don’t think that order is going to change, ever.
