Agree about Rob. He and Birdsong are the best guards to play at UH.
Williams could shoot it from distance, drive and pass. His game should have translated well to the NBA but drugs took their toll. He averaged 25 pts without the benefit of a 3pt line.
Rob is also responsible for the great Phi Slama Jama team as his signing with UH caused Drexler, Young and Micheaux to sign here.
DJ is a great example of why itās silly to dismiss Uzan after a couple of games. DJ started out as a great athlete who had no idea what he was doing on defense and caused Sampson repeated heartburn on offense. As good as he ended up being, he was often out of the lineup in the early season.
Uzan doesnāt have the luxury of coming in as a 6th man to learn the ropes, but heās already putting up respectable numbers in almost every category while learning to play a new system with a new group of guys. His numbers are actually comparable to Sheadās 2022-2023 season, with a better assist:turnover ratio.
Numbers donāt tell the whole story, but the dude has stepped into some big shoes with a fair amount of success. He just needs to get better on defense so that he isnāt always in foul trouble.
Exactly, if people were expecting Uzan to come in and just be last yearās Shead thatās a ridiculous expectation and results in the terrible take that heās a miss.
Like I said if weāre still seeing this in late January going into February ok then this take might be more warranted but 7 games in is ridiculous
Uzans defensive limitation, potential, and the requirement for time to learn are duly noted.
Another area where he must improve is penetration from the top of the key in our set offense. Against SDS, it appeared that there was a force field that he would bounce off of. Iāve noticed this in other games as well. IMO itās an attitude that he hasnāt yet developed.
For sure, he still has a long way to go to be where we need him to be come March. No one is saying otherwise. But ā7 games in and heās at Damian Dunnās level of not materializingā is truly a terrible position to take.
Where are you seeing thatās a requirement for football? Iām seeing the following on Wikipedia:
The National Football Foundation outlines specific criteria that may be used for evaluating a possible candidate for induction into the Hall of Fame.[67]
A player must have received major first team All-America recognition.
A player becomes eligible for consideration 10 years after his last year of intercollegiate football played.
Football achievements are considered first, but the post-football record as a citizen is also weighed.
Players must have played their last year of intercollegiate football within the last 50 years.
The nominee must have ended his professional athletic career prior to the time of the nomination.
Coaches must have at least 10 years of head coaching experience, coached 100 games, and had at least a .600 winning percentage.[68]
I mean maybe things changed from when you saw it, perhaps a misunderstanding But itās definitely not the criteria these days. Below is the official criteria.
I had to read the whole thread for the first time tonight because apparently I didnāt give it the time of day back in December ā man, am I glad that I didnāt read it then.
if you know anything about advanced stats and metrics, you would understand. Per evanmiya Florida is #376 in falling for the 4th pump fake. Its a clear pathway to victory against the Gators. This is why people just dont understand how advanced metrics could win you a title
