2020 bracketology

The reason we can’t play in Houston this year is because we are the Host school for the Houston region. If Rice was the host school, then we could be playing in Houston. I’m not exactly sure why this is the rule, but I assume that it is to keep people from thinking we have some sort of unfair advantage as the host school.

I could easily drive to Spokane for a rematch with Oregon, count me in.

Looks like Lunardi dropped us back down to a 7 in his update today
Jerry Palm has us an 8

The projected West region by Bracketology seems like the easiest path to the Final 4 in Atlanta.

I think the drop by lunardi was a reflection on the possible Memphis game with the 6 seed
Not so much that he thinks we have dropped off in team power

Hey would you like to be a host school for the NCAA Tournament?

Us: No. Have Rice do it. We make the tournament now, not “host” it whatever ridiculousness that means. Easy.

Almost positive UH will receive revenue from Hosting. They provide assistance–people at the event and teams in the Region go to GVL Development Center to practice during the event.

Cincy on the bubble for Lunardi. That’s a slot the conference needs this year if we want five next year. Personally, I think Cincy makes it in.

Cincy Net is favorable their overall record is not. Temple made it last year with a stronger overall record despite being higher in the Net then some NIT teams. I hope the AAC can get 4 in it’s very important.

I once though WSU and Memphis were both in
but not as sure any more.
We are about to drop WSU to 5-5 in conference and they do not have any signature wins.
Memphis I think is in for moment but not by much.
Cincinnati is working themselves back in but need to stay hot.
Tulsa is in for now but not by much and I still think they are going to hit a slump. They had anlot go right for them early and the pendulum may shift.
We are in with 3 more losses

Lunardi has Memphis as the first team out right now and WSU as a 9. I agree that WSU doesn’t look as stout as we thought but they do have a few solid OOC wins.

Today he has Cincy in as the autobid but wouldn’t have them in as an at-large. I think we end up with 3 bids and 4 is possible, but 2 is also possible.

Yea, WSU is all but out of the conference race if we beat them. Tough luck for them but you gotta win. I think they’re a top 64 team but the trend isn’t working in their favor.

You can be a top 50 team and not make the Tourney. Remember a lot of auto-bids from smaller Confs that are not near the top 64 but get to represent their School and their Conf. Beauty of MarchMadness!!

Have to remember that a LOT OF SPOTS are reserved for P5 conference teams with less than stellar seasons !!
