At the end of the day, sometimes you see that kind of journalism, and sometimes you don’t, Fred.

This is a brutal stretch. And they play us in this stretch as well. UH, Memphis, UCF, Cincy, Tulsa is how they close the season

My friend who went there said Lamar is either stuck up rich kids or literal gang members :joy::joy: it’s pretty wild. But they do have nice football facilities

Stuck up rich kids or literal gang members? I know a ton of kids at Lamar and while there probably are a few stuck up rich kids and a few kids that are in gangs, that probably makes up ~1% of the 629 in the 2022 graduating class. Weird way to generalize.

I graduated from Westbury in 1983 and Lamar was all River Oaks kids at that time .

We played yall in basketball. Klein 83. I hit a beautiful jumper from the elbow over the zone defense. :grinning:

Your right let me clarify, that’s how my friend said Lamar was lol, he went their and so did his brother. Maybe that’s just his experience lol.

This is pretty dope. We should have our recruits takes pictures here as well rather than just a white background

And people say stars don’t mean anything , those were the exact words. BS

I can’t wait to see Alton. The most film I watch from last year. The more I can’t wait to see healthy car, Henry, and Alton. We had no big runs last year. And no RBs that can catch out the backfield

He was the highest rated recruit we got in 2019. He was a huge get for Dana. Glad to see he is coming into his own. Be patient with some of these guys, it can take time. He’s going to be elite for UH real soon

Very, very few River Oaks kids there now if any. They go to St Johns, Kincaid, Strake, St Agnes and Episcopal - same with the West U/Bellaire-ish kids - but they are spread out additionallly at Carnegie, HSPVA, DeBakey and Energy Institute (part of HISD)

That’s what I’ve noticed. I think Bellaire is basically the only school left in HISD that still has the neighborhood kids in attendance.

My son’s friend group from elementary/middle school are at Strake, Episcopal, Lamar, HSPVA, Bellaire and DeBakey. Everyone is spread out. Bellaire does maintain the neighborhood somewhat but they get a lot of transfers in as well.

3500 are zoned to Bellaire but 2300 attend Bellaire. 850 transfer into Bellaire (200 coming from Westbury)
Lamar has 5500 zoned in with 3300 that attend private high school or home school - 1600 transfer into Lamar (170 from Westbury) with 1200 coming from their zone
