Coogs tank #13 in week 1 of USTFCCCA rankings. We’ll see where that goes as the season progresses.

Next weekend is the Cam Burrell Invitational at UH. Leroy Burrell and his Auburn Tigers will be at the meet. Sure to be an emotional weekend for many.

UH dropped to #19 in this week’s USTFCCCA rankings (down five spots). I’m sure the rainy conditions for the Cam Burrell Invitational meet this weekend played a role in that drop.

Good news, the Broadnax kid from Ridge Point has signed with Cougars. He ran a 10.27 last week.
Picked us over Auburn and many others

UH is making its final appearance in the AAC Outdoor Championships, currently being aired on ESPN+.

Cougar men in 6th place with 2 of 21 events scored. Women in 5th.

Always fun to watch the Coogs climb from the bottom to the top.

Long jump scored. Nice bump.

Just got back in time to catch the Coogs win the 4x100 with a 39.45.

UCFs Rayniah Jones wins women’s 100m in under 11 seconds, but looked like a clear false start. She was upright while everyone else was still in the blocks. They must have ruled she’s just got incredible reaction time…

Shaun Maswanganyi with a 9.96 to win the 100m!!! :exploding_head:

Edit, not legal wind…2.9 m/s (2.0 is legal)

Coogs moving on up…

Coogs looking strong finishing 1-2 in 800m, leaving the field in the dust. 18 pts there.

Christian Sampye is the champion in pole vault, there’s 10 more points.

UH and WSU both pick up 14 pts in the 400m H

Three events left… Gonna come down to the wire. Coogs will get points in 200m and should win 4x400, so it may come down to who scores in the 5000m.

200m, 5000m, and 4x400 left. In good shape to take the championship b

Shaun breaks 20 seconds in the 200! First time ever, top 4 time in ncaa.

Shawn M with a 19.99 200 and a 1st with the 9.96 100.

Both were wind-aided, but his fastest 200 every and fourth best in the country, if I heard right.

Wind aided, but barely. Looks like they are peaking at the right time. 18 points in the 800m was HUGE!

Time for a quick nap for the men’s and women’s 5000m before the 4x400. :joy:

Gonna be exciting. I’d love the men to take the final conference championship. The women are showing well but UCF is just too good.

Cecilia Tamayo-Garza deserves a shout out for a great meet. Runner up in three races, but great performances. Her 200m today was the sixth fastest in the NCAA this year, but only good for second place. Her anchor in the 4*100 was amazing, if you haven’t seen it, it’s worth the watch.

Really need some points in the 5000. Cinn only 5 points behind with a couple of strong runners. Once again, looks like coming down to the 4x400.

According to announcers, WSU should take the lead from the 5000. UH gonna need to win the 4x400 and need WSU to underperform.

Update:

UH needs to win, and need WSU to finish no better than 6th. WSU has the 4th best time in 4x400 coming into this weekend.

UH needs to win and WS can finish no higher than 6th by my quick calculations. They have the 4th fastest time going in, so not looking good.
