UCONN is now in a so called basketball power conference so now they are getting the benefit of the doubt.

I could see any of the top 20 making Final Four including Arkansas, Xavier and
Murray State.
Murray State is dangerous…Arkansas yes.
Xavier, is 3-7 in their last 10 games. They played Providence well. But, just haven’t won games lately
Xavier always seems to be the Cinderella , like Loyola.
Nice win by Oregon last night. Do they, WSU or SMU have a chance at being Q1 teams by end of the season?
I gotcha. Yeah Xavier was really good when Chris Mack was coach.
He leaves for Louisville. They hire Travis Steele and have missed the tournament 3 straight yrs.
Please, Please, Please!!!
UCONN is a good team this year… Not better than us but the ESPN headquarters is in Hartford…
SMU is already a Q1 game (road + neutral)
Oregon needs win 2/3 minimum to rise the 8 spots needed by the conference tourney
Wichita State prob needs blowout Tulsa and ECU while also keeping it respectable vs Memphis to be a Q1 team

How is Virginia even on the bubble? They’re not even a Q1 road game right now.
Lunardi should be disqualified as someone who even gets to give an opinion.
How do you 5 seed a team who has been top 15 most of the season?
The drivel coming from this guy’s brackets repeatedly amaze me. ESPN, why are you wasting money on this obviously unqualified opinion-generator?
@JohnnyUtah i do agree with you that Lunardi and Jerry Palm are the big name guys. But they’re certainly not the best at bracketology. Palm is average
The 5 seed however seems right. Because our tournament resume, we currently have zero Quad 1 wins. That is bumping us down from a 3 or 4 seed to a 5 seed
Not our fault. That Virginia, Oregon & Oklahoma St have all underperformed this year
Texas for example. Ive seen bracket projections where Texas is ranked ahead of Houston in the bracket order.
Even though, Texas, in my opinion has underperformed this season with the talent they have
Well, its cause the darn Big 12, every game is pretty much a Quad 1 game.
So, if you have 18-20 conference games, you’re probably gonna finish with 9+ Quad 1 wins, if youre decent.
Its our bloody AAC conference that did us no favors this season
We’ve struggled against good teams. Even the committee itself gave us a 5-seed.
Temple and Tulane deciding to be good teams after awful OOC slates and knocking down the fringe Q1 teams (UCF, Cinci, Wichita) down to Q2 in the process has been a killer
Now instead of having maybe 3 Q1 + 5 or 6 Q2 we might end up with 0 Q1 and 10 Q2 lmao
Correct. @UH67ORST61
Also last year was unique, we were a 2 seed in the tournament. But had bad losses to ECU and Tulsa.
And wins against: Texas Tech, Wichita St, and Memphis ×2. Not a great resume in a normal yr
Covid pauses last year hurt other teams resumes and helped us to get a 2 seed.
In 2019, a normal year, we were 31-3 and given a 3 seed.
Unless you’re have an amazing season like Providence is having, or you’re Gonzaga or Villanova, the Top 16 spots are typically for Power 5 teams
Pass. Not scared of UConn, just dont want to watch Hurleys antics in a game in which im actually invested.
The NBE gets P5 treatment. You basically have to be Gonzaga or us to get a top 4 seed outside of the big leagues. Occasionally an A10 or MWC team may be good enough but thats pretty rare.
Just now resurfacing with another negative post after your big fail on Cam?
Name at least 16 teams that don’t “struggle” against good teams ? We lost games against 2 good teams away from home by a total of 3 points. Lost at home by 10 points to a team that shot FTs at a 30% higher clip than their season average.
Lazy analysis at best
Some struggle with good teams yet still win. We don’t win against good teams as evidenced by our Quad 1 record. We’re competing for seeding with those that do beat good teams.
