Or don’t. I’m good with that lol
If you mean using some selectivity or not having the mass exodus of players to replace, then I agree.
Just my take on this but I am thinking Sampson is probably going to hang it up after this year and wants MacFarland, Tugler and Lath to develop much quicker giving them more time to develop for next year when Kellen takes over… Haven’t heard much about the new Contract other than he’s scheduled to make 3.4 million next year which is a little bump…but nothing on the years following afterwards… I don’t think Sampson is a fan of the NIL , Portal and even with the move to the Big 12. The AAC allowed him to strategize and develop his players through out the season but with the Big 12 the time is much more limited to strategize and much more pressure to win every single game…I believe he is just prepping up for Kellen to take over at this point…:
@rich0825 Kelvin is 67 turning 68 in October
His son is 37, with young kids.
Kelvins got approx 731 career wins. I think he goes another 3 yrs. Gets to 800 win mark. And retires after that.
Kellen would be 40 and ready to take over.
Also, when CKS talked to Kris Gardner on his podcast, he did sound energized about Facility Upgrades
That donors were stepping up to help with that. And more will be done in the future. Maybe that keeps Kelvin around 3-4 yrs
Don’t think I agree with any of your take other than there are a few things CKS may not like about the future of college athletics.
My take is many in here are short changing this roster and what Kelvin and staff have built. We have one heck of a team minus some experience and possibly depth in the front court.
He has not conceded one thing for this season or looking towards his future retirement.
I hope he stays 3-4 more years, maybe his goal is 800 wins that would be nice, I just think this year and next year will be his last, get us going in Big 12 and hang it up, but I’m sure he wants that Natty big time so we will see
What’s these fresh faces look like right now and what they will look like after a summer of strength training will be a little different. Don’t worry about it too much,

Mylik Wilson, again included in today’s workouts
Ya, but the super skinny Gonzaga player got hurt in pre season. Saw that coming.
What is that yoga?
Yah I don’t know why you expect CKS to hang it up after this season. My interpretation of the roster moves (pure speculation), coach knows we need to get bigger (see this year’s freshman). The fact that we didn’t land a big in the portal is probably a sign that we didn’t want to get into a bidding war for a recruit and run the risk of souring feelings for guys already on the team. I base that solely on the quotes I’ve heard from Sampson saying we don’t use NIL as a recruiting tool. At the end of the day developing your own players (while it takes longer than grabbing guys from the portal) is probably the more sustainable method for roster construction.

This the type of stuff that’s giving me anxiety. One wrong move and our front court is in serious trouble
Which hand, right or left?
That is a bummer, for his development. (I.e. shooting and ball handling)
Good news is he can still do most activities to stay in shape.
This gives others the opportunity to step in there early.
Cryer, Shead talk with Chancellor Johnson
from bad to worse
4 inexpereinced players and the guy returning with experience (in need a big jump) will likely miss most of the offseason
Maybe a wake up call to fill that last spot
Too late mylik Wilson came back we are out of luck
There goes any hopes of Roberts practicing in the offseason to be a strech 4
Bet that extra Big would come in handy right about now. I’d be happy with even a Gresham type of pickup…Oh well
How do you break a finger during a workout?
What the heck did they have the guy doing?
Every year someone is getting hurt in preseason/offseason.
