2023-24 Houston Cougars Basketball Season

It seems that Coach Sampson also prefers to schedule easier games early in the season (and in this case, offseason) to build player confidence. It’s pretty consistent with our season schedules every year, and it gets results.

Well, coach said here that he would have rather continued playing the national team. In another interview, he said he wished they could play them the whole time there.

Hot take which I made on Saturday. This will be a better team than last year barring injuries especially in the front court. The back court is what is pulling up the team and cannot suffer injuries either. Mylik Wilson and Sharp is proving to be a bigger pleasant surprise. Cryer, Dunn and Shead were expected to be good and they are meeting the expectation. Tugler& Arceneaux will be the difference makers on how much better this team can be compared to last years.

That is a pretty bold take a year after we lost 2 first round picks and are extremely thin in the front court (age and experience-wise). I won’t argue with you, but will just pray you’re right! I do agree that Tugler and Arceneaux are the wild cards for me, and will take it a step further in saying Arceneaux’s performance will likely determine whether we’re a 2nd weekend or 3rd weekend team this year. I knew Tugler would be a stud, but didn’t necessarily think it would be as a freshman. I was very pleasantly surprised with what I saw of him in the scrimmages.

He’s played well against Ohio State, Arkansas, and Florida. We shut him down though. But I think he’ll be fine. I don’t think he’s a star though

Sasser wouldn’t like you talking about his son like that

We completely shut him down last year. I was not impressed with his game then and not now

Didn’t we shut him down last year?

Never mind….rookie error.
