I can say with 99.9% confidence that coach Sampson will not retire in the middle of next season

Love that CKS’s coaching tree gets to continue to grow and spread out. Much love to Coach Q and his future at Louisiana. The Ragin’ Cajuns got a good one!

From talking to people, it sounds like ULL stepped up financially to get Quannas. Likely going to be in the 900K-1M range.

Good for Coach Q and huge loss for the program but that is expected with all the success. I think he is going to do a great job building that program up.

I’m sure Louisiana will love the PR from us having a long run in the tournament

I low key pull for Da Cajuns anyway since my wife’s whole family is from dere…

Maybe a silly question, but will he still be an assistant with our team through the end of the season?

On his Zoom today, Kelvin was asked if Quannas would stay through the tournament. He almost seemed offended that it was even asked.

Great opportunity for him. Curious what kind of NIL support they’ll give him? We’re losing a huge part of the UH family. Wish him nothing but the best.

Louisiana is in the Sun Belt conference.

Arkansas St finished tied for 1st in its league. Their head coach, Bryan Hodgson, could be leaving for a bigger job if Arkansas St makes the NCAA tournament

Hodgson, is a former assistant coach under Nate Oats at Alabama

James Madison & Troy, also (2) solid programs in that league

Right. That’s why I said through April 8. :slightly_smiling_face:

What are the odds that UH will play ULL next season?

I am happy for coach White for getting a well deserved head coaching job. He is a good coach and if he can instill our culture at Louisiana, he will have a great run.

Well, that’s good news.

It’s just that we have had coaches leave UH for new opportunities on the verge of the post-season, you know, like Herman and Sumlin.

Given that, I figured I should ask!

I think its funny that Texas is likely to fire Rodney Terry and would love to replicate UH’s basketball success. Here is Sampson’s #1 assistant and he goes to ULL. The snobbery at Texas is unmatched. Unless of course, Texas reached out, and Q told them he would not accept a position there.

It’s not a normal leap to go from an assistant to a big time job like Texas with exception of it being an internal promotion.
