2024-2025 Houston Cougars Basketball Season

@pesik

You have to get more comfortable playing up tempo. And we can do that better, with 4 guards.

I think recent NCAA tournaments have proven efficient offenses beat efficient defenses.

Francis, hasnt been great. But Jwan you could say has been more disappointing

Because of the pre-season All American talks. Fully healthy, he needs to demand the ball.

(Butler: 5 shot attempts, Troy: 5 shot attempts)

And take more efficient shots. His contested jump hook, is a tough shot. That cant be his only offense

He was an absolute killer his sophomore year though.

It’s quite odd.

I’m starting to think he’s injured.

100%.

And I have wondered the same thing….i really expected him to be a beast this year….

He’s had a couple of good games on the boards but he’s had others where he just disappeared….1or 2 rebounds against Bama despite playing almost 40 minutes?

Something seems off.

I thought we already knew he was injured?

He’s constantly injured. A players best ability is availability.

Rebounding is a “team” effort. The person that actually gets the rebound is frequently helped out by others down low, making sure that the opponents kept away from the ball as it comes off the rim.

Yeah, that’s where Roberts is such a major factor as compared to TA. Even when Roberts isn’t getting the rebounding numbers, he’s generally neutralizing a big from the other team, where TA struggles to stay in the play.

The 4 guard lineup (assuming Arc is a guard as he said in preseason) would be more effective with larger guards that were getting a lot of rebounds. It can be useful if our defense is getting killed anyways, then it becomes who can score more.

Hope for 6-1 the rest of Jan.

ESPN + does deliver the quality B12 hoop content.

Anyone know why so many Big12 games are getting pushed to plus, seems like way more are on there than last year.

I havnt been paying attention, who’s been getting the main coverage? been seeing a lot of SEC ball

Was thinking the same thing Hill.

One of reasons is 2 extra teams in Conf than last year. Just too many gms ea nite to " fit over the air " broadcast.
Last year Coogs had 4 Conf gms on the + , this yr i thk it doubled to 8 iirc.

SEC Network gets them all on cable.
ESPN + the defacto network for B12.

B12 hoop, FB front and center
selling Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ bundles.
A value for sure.

This Saturday.

4 on SECN, 4 on ESPN
I’m watching B12 but looking in on a few.

Yep, this midweek. 2 Big12 games on over the air, UH TCU and KU ASU. Other 8 on plus. SEC 4 on over the air ESPN, and 4 on SEC Network.

Should be 6 ( gms) on ESPN +, not 8, but still not great balance for o
Over the Air vs ESPN + gms for Conf.
