The way I look at roster construction in College Football is similar to how I view it in the NFL. Recruiting is like the NFL Draft and the Transfer Portal is like free agency. You need both to be successful and can’t neglect HS recruiting like Dana has. Realistically we don’t have the same caliber of NIL as the bigger schools, but I don’t see any reason why we can’t recruit to a similar level of schools like UCF and Texas Tech. Malzhan and McGuire are both former HS head coaches which definitely helps a lot with the HS recruiting.

Answer: we have a lazy coach that would rather party than put the work in to be great…and that includes recruiting (the report card is visible for everyone to see).
The transfer portal is the lazy way out which would be OK…IF he was dominating. He is not.
He should have a 9-5 job if he didn’t want to work hard

So Dana recruiting defenders go with ‘there are only 8 recruits’. They used to say ‘look at the average, it is high’.
But now we have the second worst class and the lowest average. You would think we could do better.

Nothing but shortcuts and excuses
- I need to resdshirt the entire team to build depth
- I need better facilities
