A good example is Trey Stewart and his clothing line. The connections to Dwayne wade helped Stewart’s line go big.
I don’t think Miller was looking to score every time he got the ball last year… he looked scared at first and then more aggressive later… I think he was just thinking too much last year…
I think this is good for us… Culture.
I need to read into it more. But it sounds bad.
So, you have $20.5M cap. You’re probably going to prioritize Football & mens basketball
Leaving how much for the rest of the sports in your athletic program?
The collectives are going away. In its place the $600+ NIL deals with Raising Canes or Star Pizza
For us since we don’t have a ton of big donors, maybe this is great for us.
Revenue sharing mentioned at Big 12 meetings by Kelvin.
Why does women’s basketball get more than other women’s sports?
It won’t go away per say, there has always been cheating and under the table payments lol it won’t stop , maybe it won’t be called NIL payments but the money will keep flowing don’t kid yourself
Because womens basketball actually generates some ratings.
Our doesn’t.
Hopefully that changes with the new higher.
Can’t get much lower…
My hot take on women’s basketball is ESPN lost the men’s march madness so they bought the women’s march madness and do everything they can to boast the coverage because it’s one of their properties.
We have a women’s basketball team?
I never noticed lol
Athletes who want to negotiate a successful NIL have to be active on social media and have a lot followers. NILs are about marketing a business or a product, and the bigger reach an athlete has on social media, the more leverage the athlete has on negotiating a successful NIL.
I kinda agree with this except im not too familiar with TT roster. I’m still shocked that Pop went to A&M when people don’t see them as a top 30 team.
I look at that list and see what I believe is a lot of pre season overhype.
Texas Tech is obviously too high right now. You say you’re not familiar with the roster, there’s nothing to be familiar with. They have Toppin, who is the number one player going into next season perception-wise, and they have Anderson, who’s considered a breakout prospect, but beyond that there’s really nothing on the roster that’s that nationally notable. And most of their bench are players who have never had a major in minutes before.
But being honest, they do have a lot of potential. If they pick up one or two other big pieces, they should definitely be top five. But they need those pieces.
Lejuan Watts is really good. A 6’6” sniper. Shoots the rock over 40% from three.
TT has their go-to guy but seems like an overhauled roster outside of him.
Watts is really good but I think people don’t realize what he’s really good for. They see 14 point scorer who shot 43% from three and their assumption is like a sniper and they think he’s the perfect replacement for Darrion Williams. But if you actually look at his volume shots, he takes like one 3 a game, despite playing 34 minutes a game, he rarely shoots the ball. He’s a scorer from driving and I don’t think a lot of people realize that.
Yeah, they picked up some huge transfers. I think their biggest weakness is that they don’t have a great secondary ball-handler. The PF transfer from Villanova should fit in well with Toppin.
If Henshall ends up going there, they’ll be in pretty good shape, assuming the pieces all come together, but they’ll be limited if he doesn’t.
