ACC wouldāve jumped at one of those schools at a moments notice
Strategically, both UCF and Cincy are necessary because it gets us access to both the state of Ohio and Florida.
If we can add Miami or FSU (or both), then Big 12 would have the entire geographical footprint of Florida (vs. SEC), and we we would also have a school directly competing with Ohio State (vs. B1G)
Agree w/ you 3rd ward coog2. Cincy had a bad bowl game today but their last 3 years in Big 12 football on whole has been just as good (dare I say better) than UHās track record. And UCF brings Florida (despite a super crowded state w/ UF, Miami and Fl St.). They are both well known national names despite (like UH) - not being the āflagship schoolā in their respective states.
Iād say both their profiles are higher than Wa State or Or. State.
I am writing about the people on this board who said they hoped Tech would lose, before the gameā¦its a bad look, we need to support our league champ, who ever it is. We can solve the problem of how Tech always embarrasses itself and their league in games like this by beating them and winning the Big 12 ourselves.
What happened with SMU? They were the big spenders during conference realignment but havenāt heard much from them this season or being big portal players. Maybe I just missed it.
Yeah - its going to get ugly. Expect better from the flagship university of Arizona ⦠in theory Ariz should have what it takes to succeed in the NIL era ⦠maybe theyāve simply gone over-board on being thrown all in w/ resources at basketball.
